1963 Ford Falcon Futura Ignition Switch Installation Instructions

The Falcon’s ignition switch used a simple design consisting of a lock cylinder and the swap itself. Ford expanded its in style Falcon line in 1963 to incorporate a four-door model and a deluxe station wagon. The loom plugs into the again of the ignition switch. Pull the loom off of the change to disconnect it. The loom is pressed on on the factory, and may take a little effort to remove.
6. Plug the wiring loom into the back of the alternative ignition switch. Slide the small metal washer over the threaded rod behind the switch, adopted by the only wire. Tighten the nut over the tip of the wire with a wrench till the nut is snug.
7. Place the ignition swap towards the back of the opening within the dashboard, then place the key bezel towards the entrance of the dashboard. Twist the ignition change in a clockwise direction till the tabs on the back of the key bezel click on into place on the front of the ignition switch.
8. Insert the lock cylinder into the ignition swap with the ignition key turned counter-clockwise by roughly 1/eight of an inch previous the “ACC” position on the important thing bezel. As soon as the lock cylinder is flush towards the entrance of the ignition change, turn the key in a clockwise route till the important thing reaches a vertical place then take away the key.
9. Reconnect the battery cable with a wrench.
